That's The Spirit !

Hi Everyone,

What a fantastic sight this morning - 50+ Dolphins charging after fish right past the Point at Chanonry and down towards Inverness. My pal Alan was there before me and just as I drew into the car park I saw more and more dolphins coming hurtling past. Alan had already counted about 20 and we both stood amazed at the amount. Difficult to get good photos as they were moving very quickly and the light was rubbish but I did pick out from the photos our lovely Spirit - here in the photo with another dolphin coming up at her side.

Also spotted in the melee was Sundance, Nevis, and a whole host of the Cromarty gang. I'll be back tomorrow !

Best Wishes,

Charlie.

Great news about the number of dolphins today. I was so pleased to see a photo of my adopted dolphin Spirit. It's the first time you have seen her since my daughters adopted her for me. Thanks

    Hi Julia,

Lovely to hear from you. I was as surprised as anyone to see her but given the really big groups were containing dolphins from Cromary and further afield I maybe shouldn't have been that surprised. I didn't see where Sparkle was but likely she was with a few other youngsters a wee bit away from their Mums.

    Best Wishes,

    Charlie.

Was really excited to hear about Spirit who my mum just adopted for me. Would love to see more photos of her too. any news on her calf Sparkle?

  4. Charlie says:

    Hi Sophie,

Great to hear from you. Sparkle was with another three or four young dolphins the day that I spotted Spirit. She was not far away from Mum and the young group of dolphins were getting very excited about all the hunting that was going on - especially if the fish were herring as I suspect as they are just a nice size for a young girl like Sparkle. She will be 3 years old this summer and getting bigger and cheekier all the time! If I get new photos I'll put them up on the blog, don't worry.

    Best Wishes,

    Charlie.

    Hi Sadie,

Great to hear from you. I'll keep a good lookout for Spirit and Sparkle for you and any new photos I get will be up on the blog right away!

    Best Wishes,

    Charlie.

    Hi Charlie,
After speaking to you on Sunday We went back to Chanonry Point but didn't see any dolphins. After that we went to Cromarty and still didn't see any dolphins so I was a bit unhappy not to see any thing, but was happy to see you. My mum says I could come back in summer to see Rainbow, I can't wait for summer now and I can see WDCS when its open!

    Hi Jo,

I'm so sorry that you didn't see any dolphins - they can be tricky at times.

It was brilliant meeting you and your family on Sunday - thank you SO much for your wonderful paintings, I've posted the dolphin one on the blog as promised and I'll see about getting both of them hung in the Dolphin & Seal Centre at North Kessock so you can see them and hopefully lots of dolphins when you come back up in the summer!

    Best Wishes,

    Charlie.

    HIi Charlie
I've just adopted Spirit so have been looking on the blog to see her. I love my new dolphin and I hope I hear more of her soon. Will keep looking on the blog for updates.
    Bye for now
    Ailsa

  10. Charlie says:

    Hi Ailsa,

Great to hear from you. I might take to the water around Cromarty in the coming week to see if I can find her as she isn't with the dolphins that I see most days around Chanonry Point. I'll give her and Sparkle a wave from you if I see them!

    Best Wishes,

    Charlie.
