Thank You...

Wednesday, March 31. 2010

Hi Everyone,

Can I just say how touched I am by all your messages, e-mails and phone calls wishing me a speedy recovery - Thank You !

I'm happy to say that I am up and about again but taking it easy for a day or two until I get my knee back to full strength. Even if I can't go running up and down the coastline just yet, I'll be out and about in the car watching for dolphins.

My own thanks to my buddy Alan Ward who is keeping me up to date with what is going on at Chanonry, even in this wintry (again) and wild weather.

Best Wishes,

Charlie.

I Need Rescuing...

Sunday, March 28. 2010

Hi Everyone,

What a twit I am, while out along the shore doing some photography recently I twisted my knee pretty badly and now I can't walk very well. I'm sure that my friends in the British Divers Marine Life Rescue would have found it hilarious coming out to rescue me from the beach.

I would have been a great practise exercise, rolling about on the gravel and then getting lifted up on a stretcher just like a stranded porpoise and taken to safety.

It might be a day or two before I'm back to normal so please bear with me.

Best Wishes,

Charlie.

Tails Up Nevis !

Tuesday, March 23. 2010

Hi Everyone,

A bitterly cold and windy day again at Chanonry but at least Nevis was there foraging away to himself. He gave a couple of nice "Tails up" dives as he went under, the water spraying off his huge tail, blown with the wind.

He was joined about an hour later by Kesslet and Charlie who were spotted by me in North Kessock this morning - Kesslet had caught a lovely big fish too. By the way, did you know that you can follow what the dolphins and I are doing on Twitter? if you go to the link on the right of this page or click on HERE you can follow my "Tweets" as and when I see dolphins up here in the Moray Firth. These will hopefully get more frequent as the dolphins get busier and the season progresses.

Best Wishes,

Charlie.

Something Fishy's Going On Nevis !

Saturday, March 20. 2010

Hi Everyone,

For ages at Chanonry Point this morning Nevis had the whole place to himself. He made good use of having first pick of any salmon that were around by throwing this absolute cracker of a fish out in front of him and then taking about half an hour to swallow it before returning to the current and doing some more fishing.

Some other dolphins came pottering around but Nevis was the star of the show this morning. Good on you big fella.

Best Wishes,

Charlie.

A Breezy Day...

Friday, March 19. 2010

Hi Everyone,

The wind was so strong today at Chanonry Point that it was difficult to stand up properly. There were quite a few people around looking for dolphins and braving the gale force winds. My pal Alan and I lasted for a few hours before giving up, a dorsal fin swept past the Point but the waves were so big that I didn't even see who it was.

Thank goodness for the big stone wall at the Lighthouse that most of us were sheltering behind. It saved us getting blown into the sea !

Best Wishes,

Charlie.
