Hi Everyone,

Can I wish you all peace and happiness over the festive period. I'm on holiday for a while now and won't be updating the blog or answering any comments until mid January when I'll be back, bright eyed and bushy tailed ready for another crazy dolphin season. Thank you all so much for all your blog questions and replies to posts....This is what keeps the blog going - I couldn't do it without you!

What's Going On Here?

Hi Everyone,

You see some strange things sometimes, doing what I do, and every now and again you get an opportunity to take a photo from a really funny angle that can tell a story. Take this photo below for example - the dark shape on the left is a black labrador dog running along the beach at Chanonry early in the morning trying to catch up with Rainbow the dolphin who had just trundled past the Chanonry car park.

It was quite a long time ago that I took this photo but I remember laughing my head off as the dog stood at the Point barking at the dolphin. I don't think that Rainbow was very impressed as she swam away with a flick of her tail.

Nothing around today - I stopped off at the Point for a while but the tides are not really right until mid afternoon and by this time it's getting dark.

I am technically on holiday for a good while but don't worry - I'll pop into the blog every so often.

All Quiet...

Hi Everyone,

Not much happening at the moment dolphin wise I'm afraid. Dolphins were spotted by Alan over at the Eathie coastline and near the red buoy but very little anywhere else apart from the occasional visit by Kesslet & Charlie at North Kessock and Rosemarkie.

It has been pretty decent weather in the last few days, the photo shows Chanonry Point with very calm conditions.....if only it was like this more often!

A Dolphin December?

Hi Everyone,

I had a lovely surprise this morning at North Kessock just as the sun was rising on this first day of December. A yacht had come out of the canal and was motoring towards the shiny gold sunrise shimmering on the water and up popped two dolphins right in front of it.

I have a feeling that they might have been Kesslet and Charlie with himself being the dolphin in the photo just ahead of the yacht. Let's hope this is a good omen for me seeing dolphins during December.
